Hadi has been collecting, verifying, and investigating citizen-generated data as evidence of human rights violations since 2011. His work aims to expose the human rights violations committed by all sides of the Syrian conflict, ensuring that journalists and lawyers are able to use the verified data for their investigations and criminal case building. Hadi has previously worked with Tactical Technology Collective to support journalists and news agencies in securing their data, devices and communications online. Hadi worked as a part-time open source investigator with Human Rights Watch and Bellingcat. Hadi is a fellow at the Centre for Internet and Human Rights, and is currently teaching a Masters of Arts course for the Raumstrategien program at the Kunsthochschule Berlin-Weissensee.

يعمل هادي الخطيب منذ 2011 في جمع البيانات التي ينشئها المواطنون، إلى جانب التحقّق منها، واستقصائها، كدليل لانتهاك حقوق الإنسان، لتوثيق انتهاكات حقوق الإنسان المرتكبة من قبل جميع أطراف النزاع السوري وفضحها، وللتأكد على أن الصحافيين والمحامين قادرون على استخدام البيانات التي تم التحقق منها في تحقيقاتهم وفي بناء القضايا الجنائية.
عمل هادي سابقًا في شركة Tactical Technology Collective على مدى الخمس سنوات الماضية لدعم الصحفيين ووكالات الأنباء في تأمين بياناتهم وأجهزتهم واتصالاتهم عبر الإنترنت، وعمل هادي صحافي استقصائي في المصادر المفتوحة لهيومن رايتس ووتش Human Rights Watch وبيلينجكات Bellingcat.
كما عمل في مركز الإنترنت وحقوق الإنسان، ويعمل حاليًا مدرساً لمساق في ماجستير الآداب لبرنامج Raumstrategien في Kunsthochschule Berlin-Weissensee.
