Aseel Sarya holds a bachelor’s degree in Media/Public Relations and Advertising. Sarya has worked for Alyaman Alyoum channel between 2012 and 2015, and has written for a number of different Yemeni newspapers. In 2015, he started producing investigations with ARIJ, and has produced 10 video and multimedia investigations ever since. Aseel Sarya is a trainer and a consultant for CFI, working within the Humanitarian Information Project, and he is a founding member of the Yemeni Network for Investigative Journalism – YAMAN.

Sarya holds a number of awards, including the first place of ARIJ Award for “The Journey of No Return” investigation in 2018, the first place in the European Union competition for “Traders of War” in 2019 and the second place in Samir Kassir Award for two consecutive years in 2017 and 2018 for the investigative reports category.

أصيل سارية حاصل على بكالوريوس إعلام/علاقات عامة وإعلان. عمل مع قناة اليمن اليوم بين عاميّ 2012 و2015، وقد كتب لصالح مختلف الصحف اليمنية. بدأ بإنتاج التحقيقات مع شبكة أريج عام 2015 وأنتج عشرة تحقيقات ڤيديو ووسائط متعددة. أصيل مدرّب ومستشار لدى الوكالة الفرنسية للتنمية الإعلامية CFI ضمن مشروع المعلومات الإنسانية، وهو عضو مؤسس للشبكة اليمنية للصحافة الاستقصائية "يمان".

يحمل أصيل في رصيد جوائزه جائزة المركز الأول في مؤتمر أريج الحادي عشر للصحافة الاستقصائية عن تحقيق "رحلة اللاعودة" 2018 وجائزة المركز الأول في مسابقة الاتحاد الأوروبي عن تحقيق "تجار الحرب" 2019 وجائزة المركز الثاني لعامين متتاليين في جائزة سمير قصير الدولية 2017 و2018 عن فئة التحقيقات الاستقصائية.
