Zahera Harb is Senior Lecturer in International Journalism at City, University of London. She is the author of Channels of Resistance: Liberation Propaganda, Hezbollah and the Media (I.B. Tauris 2011), co-editor (with Dina Matar) of Narrating Conflict in the Middle East: Discourse, Image and Communications Practices in Lebanon and Palestine (I.B. Tauris 2013) and editor of Reporting the Middle East, the Practice of News in the 21st Century (I.B. Tauris 2017). She is a board member trustee of the Ethical Journalism Network and member of UK broadcast regulator OFCOM’s content board. She is associate editor of Journalism Practice and co-editor of the Middle East Journal of Culture and Communication. Zahera was a TV journalist in her native country Lebanon reporting for local and international organizations and anchoring news and current affairs programs. She has been a member of the Thomson Foundation expert team as a consultant and media trainer since 2007. She has been sitting on the Royal Television Society Journalism Awards jury for three consecutive years. Zahera was a finalist for the UK Asian Women of Achievement Awards in 2018.


محاضر أول في الصحافة الدولية في سيتي، جامعة لندن. وهي مؤلفة كتاب "قنوات المقاومة: الدعاية التحريرية، حزب الله والإعلام (آي بي توريس 2011)، ومحرر مشارك (مع دينا مطر) لرواية الصراع في الشرق الأوسط: الخطاب والتصوير وممارسات الاتصال في لبنان وفلسطين آي بي توريس 2013) ورئيس تحرير تقارير الشرق الأوسط، وممارسة الأخبار في القرن الواحد والعشرين (آي بي توريس 2017). وهي عضو في مجلس أمناء شبكة الأخلاقيات الصحفية وعضو مجلس إدارة المحتوى التابع لشركة OFCOM. وهي محررة مشاركة لممارسة الصحافة ومحررة مشاركة في مجلة الشرق الأوسط للثقافة والاتصال. عملت زاهرة كصحفية تلفزيونية في بلدها الأم، لبنان، حيث كانت تقدم تقاريرها إلى منظمات محلية ودولية وتوثق الأخبار وتقدم البرامج المتعلقة بالشؤون الجارية. وهي عضو في فريق خبراء مؤسسة طومسون كمستشارة ومدربة إعلامية منذ عام 2007. كما شاركت كعضو في لجنة تحكيم جوائز جمعية الصحافة التليفزيونية الملكية لمدة ثلاث سنوات متتالية. شاركت زاهرة في الدور النهائي لجوائز الإنجازات النسائية الآسيوية في المملكة المتحدة في عام 2018.
