Using the interactive, comprehensive databases of the  American NGO Security Assistance Monitor, journalists can see the types of aid and equipment the United States is providing and use that data to investigate whether security institutions in their countries are using the aid as intended and if it is improving security This session will provide an overview of how journalists can get and use data on U.S. military and police aid and arms sales around the world, including the Middle East and North Africa

(Security Assistance Monitor).
