Hamida Elbour has returned as an associate professor of journalism at the Institut de Presse et des Sciences de l’Information (IPSI) of La Manouba University in Tunisia after a stint as CEO of the country’s public news agency TAP. She has been a leader in journalism and journalism education for 13 years in Tunisia, and an avid promoter of investigative reporting. She has trained students and professionals in journalism, gender, media, and politics, all subjects that are within her research interests. She was instrumental in development of a master’s degree program in investigative journalism at IPSI and a founding member of the Tunisian Association of Investigative Journalism. She is the editor of a book on public media in the Arab countries (2013), co-editor of a handbook on covering politics (2013), co-editor of a book on being journalist in a globalized communication context (2014), and co-editor of a book on investigative journalism (2015).


تعمل حاليا كأستاذ مشارك في الصحافة في معهد الصحافة وعلوم الأخبار التابع لجامعة منوبة في تونس٬ عملت في منصب الرئيس التنفيذي لوكالة الأنباء العامة في تونس. تعد الدكتورة حميدة أحد الرواد في مجال الصحافة و التعليم الصحفي والصحافة الاستقصائية في تونس. وقد دربت العديد من الطلاب والصحفيين في الصحافة وقضايا المرأة ووسائط الإعلام والسياسة. وقد لعبت دورا أساسيا في تطوير برنامج درجة الماجستير في الصحافة الاستقصائية في معهد الصحافة وعلوم الأخبار التابع لجامعة منوبة في تونس وعضو مؤسس للجمعية التونسية للصحافة الاستقصائية. وهي محررة كتاب عن "وسائل الاعلام العام في البلدان العربية" (٢٠١٣) وشاركت في تحرير كتاب حول "تغطية السياسة" (٢٠١٣)، كما شاركت في تحرير كتاب عن "الصحافة في سياق عولمة وسائل التواصل" (٢٠١٤)، و شاركت في تحرير كتاب عن "الصحافة الاستقصائية" (٢٠١٥)
